The light source is a long-lasting low-wattage CDM bulb, and built-in dimmer allows smooth, even fading of this advanced light source. This model of the Nexera uses a compact discharge lamp from Philips. The CDM lamp is rated at 150 watts, but has nearly the same lumen output as a 575 watt tungsten lamp. Additionally, the rated lamp life is 10,000 hours, versus 1,500 hours for an equivalent Tungsten bulb. That means the NexeraLX CDM Wash consumes nearly 1/4 the energy as a Tungsten bulb, and the bulb life is over six times longer - saving you money on electricity costs and lamp purchases.
