Clay Paky Sharpy

The Clay Paky Sharpy is a 189W moving beam light designed for high-impact aerial effects in concerts, broadcast, corporate events, and installs where space and rigging capacity are limited. It weighs just 16 kg and produces a perfectly parallel, laser-like beam with an output of 59,760 lx at 20m (5100 foot candles at 65 ft.). Sharpy also features a pure beam that cuts through fog and other atmospheric effects with ease. Best of all it's small enough to be fitted anywhere, trusses at live TV events, on stage, in showrooms, or in conference rooms.

Beam Performance and Optics

Sharpy’s adjustable beam angle from 0 to 3.8 degrees lets you go from an ultra-tight, pencil-style beam to a slightly wider look for broader coverage. The result is a sharply defined beam that stays clean and free of any halo, making it especially effective in haze-heavy environments and long throws.

Color, Gobos, and Aerial Effects

For fast programming and repeatable looks, the fixture includes an interchangeable color wheel with 14 fixed colors and an interchangeable gobo wheel with 17 fixed gobos. An 8-facet rotating prism expands the beam into multi-ray effects, while the frost filter provides a softer, diffused option when you want to reduce edge definition.

Control, Movement, and Electronics

Rapid and extensive pan and tilt movements support quick position changes and dynamic cues. A mechanical dimmer enables intensity control, and the electronic ballast is fitted as standard. For integration into modern lighting networks and workflows, Sharpy supports Art-Net and RDM, helping with remote addressing, monitoring, and system management where supported by your console and infrastructure. New, high-performance electronics and a patented Italian design round out a fixture built for demanding show environments.

Lamp and System Notes

The Sharpy uses a 189W discharge lamp (Platinum 5R o Osram Sirius 190 Plus). Its compact, lightweight form factor (only 48 cm x 19 Kg) helps reduce transport volume and makes it easier to deploy in tight rigging plots compared to larger spotlights.
