The NEW Pathway PWPP Pathport Rack Mount DMX Gateway is the core link between your DMX512/RDM system and an Ethernet lighting network. Use it to connect DMX512 control devices, then distribute data over Ethernet to DMX512-capable end devices such as intelligent lighting fixtures, LEDs, dimmers, and more. With eight individually configurable DMX512 ports and a 10/100 Mbps network interface, it supports both DMX-to-Ethernet and Ethernet-to-DMX workflows for flexible routing in venues, studios, and installed systems.

Protocol Support and DMX/RDM Control

The Pathport series supports multiple DMX-over-Ethernet protocols for sending and receiving, including Pathway ssACN (Secure sACN), ANSI E1.31 streaming ACN (sACN), Art-Net, Pathport Protocol, and ShowNet. It can act as an E1.20 RDM controller when used with the free Pathscape configuration software or ANSI E1.33 RDMnet compliant controllers, making it suitable for discovery, configuration, and ongoing management of RDM devices on your network.

Patching, Merging, and Priority Handling

Advanced features include extensive protocol support, slot-by-slot patching using multiple sources, cross-fading on priority change, and signal loss behavior. DMX output can be configured as whole universes or as a custom slot-by-slot patch. Map up to eight control sources to each output slot, with merge and/or priority options configurable per source, which is useful for integrating multiple consoles, architectural controllers, media servers, or backup sources within a single system.

Front Panel Configuration and Status Monitoring

Status LEDs for each port provide instant confirmation of DMX activity and direction. The LCD display and encoder knob allow for front panel configuration and reporting of commonly used settings such as IP address and subnet mask, port direction, and protocol selection. Different Ethernet protocols may be merged together and prioritized, helping you standardize distribution while accommodating mixed-protocol environments.
