ETC Ion Xe 20

Ion Xe 20 provides complete control of conventional and moving lights, LEDs and media servers. Designed for theatre, live events, houses of worship, and multi-operator venues, it supports multiple users with partitioned parameter control and full backup, multiple playback faders and cue lists in a tracking, move-fade environment. The desk includes backlit buttons and 20 45mm non-motorized faders with associated displays.

Show Control That Scales with Your Rig

Built for programming and playback workflows that range from straightforward rep plots to complex moving-light and LED systems, the ETC Ion Xe 20 supports 16,000 control channels (numbered anywhere from 1 to 99,999) and up to 12,288 outputs. With partitioned control and support for up to 99 discrete users, multiple programmers can work at the same time without stepping on each other’s parameters, and the console is designed to maintain continuity with full backup.

Hands-On Playback and Flexible Operator Layout

For performance playback, the console provides a master playback pair with motorized 100mm faders, plus 20 45mm faders across 100 pages for configurable faders, submasters, masters and grandmaster control. Two high-contrast monochrome LCD displays associated with the fader section help keep page and fader context visible when switching between looks, songs, or acts. User-definable direct selects and a configurable high-density channel display (including format and flexi-channel modes) support faster navigation when programming under time pressure.

Color, Effects, and Visual Tools for Modern Fixtures

Ion Xe 20 includes four pageable encoders for non-intensity parameter control and four discrete palette types (IFCB), with presets that function as an “all palette” for consistent reuse of key looks. Effects provide dynamic relational and absolute progressive behavior, while expanded color handling includes up to six abstract color spaces, tinting, spectrum, and fade path tools. User configurable, interactive Magic Sheets provide a visual way to organize channels and playback targets, and the Central Information Area (CIA) gives access to the browser and additional controls. A Virtual Media Server function supports pixel mapped effects, images, and animations.

Networking, Protocols, and Show File Compatibility

For integration into existing lighting and media networks, the console supports ETCNet2 and Net3 (powered by ACN), ArtNet and Avab UDP network output protocols, with two individually configurable Ethernet ports. Connectivity also includes multiple MIDI and/or SMPTE TimeCode inputs, analog/serial inputs, and OSC transmit/receive. To streamline transitions between systems, show import is supported from Obsession, Express, Expression, Emphasis, Congo, Cobalt, Grand MA1, Grand MA2, Safari and Strand 500/300 Series.
