NEW Ayrton Khamsin 750 LED Profile

The NEW Ayrton Khamsin 750 LED Profile is a compact, high-output LED profile moving-head luminaire built for scenic lighting, touring, broadcast, and other environments where precision optics, framing, and repeatable positioning matter. To make the luminaire this compact, Ayrton has completely redesigned its internal structure by using cast aluminium sides. The size of the cooling system also had to be dramatically reduced and made even more efficient. This high-end luminaire also features a double rotating gobo wheel on a single axis that will allow you to achieve astonishing high-definition morphing effects.

LED Engine Options for Scenic and Colour-Critical Work

Like all luminaires in the Ayrton product line, KHAMSIN is available in two versions: KHAMSIN-S is designed for scenic applications. It is equipped with a new LED module, delivering powerful metallic white light with record-breaking output of 40,000 lumens and a colour temperature of 6800 K. Devised specifically for applications that require perfect colour reproduction, KHAMSIN-TC is equipped with an entirely new LED module using a monochromatic light source with a native colour rendering index greater than 90, extremely high TM30 readings and a colour temperature of 6000 K.

Optics and Beam Control

Khamsin’s 13-element, 8:1 high-resolution optic system delivers a beam aperture from 7° to 58° with fast motorised linear zoom. Tempered, anti-reflective coated lenses and a 158 mm frontal lens help maintain brightness and clarity through the zoom range, making it well-suited for tight aerial beams, mid-throws, and wide stage coverage.

Colour, Gobo, Animation, and Aerial Effects

A sophisticated colour mix system provides CMY colour mixing with variable CTO colour temperature correction, plus a fixed colour wheel with six complementary colours for quick, repeatable colour hits. For image and texture work, the fixture includes two indexable rotating gobo wheels with six high-precision glass gobos (plus open), adjustable-speed bidirectional rotation, and a focusable graphic animation effect wheel with continuous rotation in both directions. Two rotating/indexable prisms (one 5-facet circular, one 4-facet linear) expand aerial looks, while two frost filters (light and heavy) support everything from softened edge washes to fully diffused atmospheres.

Framing, Dimming, and Camera-Friendly Performance

For shaping and clean cutoff, four individually positionable shutter blades cover 100% surface area in all positions, with framing module rotation of +/- 45°. A fast iris diaphragm supports dynamic effects (15% to 100% open). Electronic dimming enables smooth adjustment from 0 to 100% without colour variation, and strobing is adjustable from 1 to 25 flashes per second. Flicker-free source management makes the Khamsin suitable for TV applications and all video-recorded events.

Movement, Accuracy, and Reliability

High-resolution stepper motors controlled by microprocessors deliver extremely accurate positioning and smooth movement, with moving-head operation via either 8- or 16-bit resolution. Pan and tilt automatic repositioning supports dependable cueing, with a 540° pan and 270° tilt range. Rated life (L70) is up to 40,000 hours. Dimensions are 494 x 778 x 280 mm (l x h x d), and weight is 39.8 kg (87.74 lbs).
