The Martin MAC Viper Profile is a high-output moving head profile luminaire built for concerts, touring, theatrical productions, and corporate events where punch, precision, and fast cueing matter. With a 1000-watt HID source, it delivers the intensity and reach expected from larger fixtures while consuming less power, making it a practical choice for rigs balancing brightness with electrical load.
Optics and Beam Control
The Viper Profile is designed around a highly efficient optical system and a large 140 mm front lens that helps create the wider, “fat beam” look many designers want for aerials and textured gobo work. A 1:5 zoom with auto-linked focus supports quick changes from tighter beams to broader coverage, helping one fixture handle multiple positions and looks without constant refocusing.
Color, Gobos, and Effects
For dynamic looks, it combines CMY color mixing with an 8-slot color wheel for static colors and correction filters, plus a linear CTO to move cleanly between daylight and tungsten tones and expand the CMY palette. Two 5-slot rotating gobo wheels (all-glass gobos with optimal focal separation) support crisp projection and smooth morphing effects, and the FX wheel adds additional fixed gobos and a 135° animation effect for motion textures on air and scenery.
Shaping and Output Effects
A combined dimmer/shutter system enables instant blackout/open, smooth fades, and intensity effects. You also get a fast, tight iris for beam shaping, diverse strobe options (mechanical or electronic, including combination effects), soft frost to gently soften the edge while keeping gobo artwork readable (with a linear focus blurring option), and a rotating/indexable 4-facet prism for strong beam separation and tiling effects.
