NEW Clay Paky Sharpy Plus Aqua

The NEW Clay Paky Sharpy Plus Aqua is a 100% HYBRID moving head designed to deliver both tight, high-impact beam looks and full-featured spotlight performance from a single fixture. It is a strong fit for touring, houses of worship, broadcast, and event production where fast look changes, versatile optics, and efficient output matter.

The Sharpy Plus fits a totally new, top-ranking-performance Osram Sirius HRI 330W X8 lamp and weighs only 23 kg (50.7 lbs). Its body is slightly larger than the Sharpy’s to house a high-quality optical unit with a 3° to 36° zoom, allowing you to go from narrow, parallel aerial beams to wider coverage for practical stage and venue spot use without swapping fixtures.

Hybrid Beam and Spot Output

The Sharpy Plus has two independent operating modes. In BEAM mode, aerial effects are enhanced by the way the Sirius lamp is made. It is capable of extraordinary power output (over 300,000 lux at 10mt distance), which the optical unit enhances through a marked hot spot for strong mid-air presence. In SPOT mode, the light is diffused in a more even way, so gobos and projected effects read with excellent uniformity on scenery, stages, and set pieces.

Its 3° to 36° (1:9) zoom covers the entire range linearly, both in spot mode and in beam mode. This supports smooth focus and size transitions during cues without unexpected jumps, useful for programmed shows and camera work.

Optics, Color, and Dimming Control

Sharpy Plus delivers 12,000 lumens from a high-efficiency optical system with a 135 mm front lens and an 8000K ±300 color temperature. For color control, it offers linear CMY color mixing plus 5 colors on 3 wheels (including 2 CTO filters) for quick warming when working for camera or tungsten-balanced environments. A high-resolution 16-bit dimmer, shutter, and strobe effects give you precise intensity control from subtle fades to punchy hits.

Gobos, Frost, Prisms, and Animation

For texture and mid-air effects, the fixture includes a static gobo wheel with 18 gobos and 6 beam reducers (down to 0.5°), plus a rotating gobo wheel with 8 HD indexable, replaceable gobos (15.9 mm external diameter, 12 mm image diameter, 1.1 mm thickness). A linear soft-edge frost filter supports smoother washes and blended edges when you need to soften the beam for scenic coverage.

An aluminum animation wheel with continuous bi-directional rotation, along with rotating 4-facet and 8-facet prisms, adds motion, breakup, and beam multiplication for dynamic cueing in concerts, worship services, and corporate reveals.

Movement, Rigging Practicality, and Touring Features

Pan and tilt movement are optimized for fast show work and accurate repositioning, with 540° pan and 270° tilt, both 16-bit, plus automatic repositioning. Fast/Standard speed is selectable via a function channel, and a mechanical pan/tilt lock supports safer transport and maintenance.

Control, Networking, and Remote Configuration

Control is designed for modern networks and traditional consoles, supporting DMX, Art-Net, RDM, and sACN (single mode, 31 channels). Connectivity includes locking 5-pin XLR IN/OUT for DMX/RDM, RJ45 IN for Ethernet, and PowerCON True1 IN for power. An integrated Wireless DMX system is included as standard (Wireless Solution) for cleaner trusses and faster deploys where cabling is limited.

A built-in web server enables configuration and firmware upgrades over the network, with diagnostic tools including DMX monitoring and remote access through RDM. The fixture also supports firmware upload from another fixture and CloudIO compatibility. A long-life self-charging battery helps with addressing and setup when power is not available.
