NEW Swisson DMX Merger, 5 Input, 1 Merge Output, 5 Pin XLR
Description
The XMG-51 DMX merger combines up to five DMX lines together into one. This allows multiple DMX lighting control systems to be used simultaneously on a single light installation, with DMX data merged according to your configuration.
Flexible DMX Channel Sharing
The 512 channels can be split amongst up to five controllers. For example, controller A controls the channels 1-48, controller B controls the channels 50-74 and the channels 200-400 are controlled by controller C. This makes it easy to divide control between different consoles, software controllers, or dedicated playback systems without rewiring your rig.
HTP/LTP Priority and Multi-Controller Access
Several light controllers can operate on the same channels. For example, a single lamp can be accessed by several controllers at the same time. Which controller has priority is configurable (HTP, LTP), so you can choose the behavior that fits your workflow, such as highest level taking precedence for intensity, or last change taking precedence for parameter control.
Mobile Control Points and Automatic Switching
A mobile light controller could be plugged in at different places of the venue. The merger recognizes where the controller is plugged in and switches automatically the corresponding port to the output. This is useful for temporary focus stations, walk-around control, or bringing in a guest controller for programming.
Backup Operation and Power-Fail Bypass
A backup lighting controller can be used at the same time as the main lighting controller by using the XMG-51 merger. The merger will automatically switch to the backup controller in the case of a failure of the main controller.
The XMG-51 has a built-in bypass relay which connects the output to a dedicated input in the event of a power supply failure.
Performance and Configuration Tools
Designed for responsive control, the XMG-51 adds only 50us latency and supports 5 DMX512 inputs and 1 DMX512 output. Additional configuration options include HTP, LTP channel, and LTP line modes, a manual switch, and a channel offset for each input, helping you align channel maps and priorities across multiple control sources.
