The NEW Astera AX1 PixelTube (Pkg of 8) is a package of (8) pixel-controllable LED RGBW batons with a dedicated 8-unit charging case, built for event production and film environments where you need fast setup, flexible mounting, and reliable wireless control. Use AX1 PixelTubes to light talent and objects, add color accents, or create clean indirect washes on walls and set pieces, with smooth RGBW mixing and 16 controllable pixels per tube for detailed effects.

Designed for practical rigging on set and on location

AX1 is built to mount at event and film sites, supporting a wide range of placements, including stands and common grip setups. The included hardware, such as holders, BabyPins, and EyeBolts, helps streamline rigging so you can position tubes quickly for key, fill, edge, or background lighting, or hide them for indirect bounce.

Pixel control, wireless workflows, and onboard control options

Each tube features 16 pixels for segmented looks and motion effects, plus a built-in CRMX receiver and wireless protocols (CRMX, UHF) with a wireless range up to 300 m / 330 yds. For hands-on adjustments, infrared control is also supported, making it easier to work quickly in changing setups.

Light output and color performance

The AX1 uses an RGBW LED engine with 28 W total LED power and 16 W LED power draw. Output is rated at 723 lumens (3200K), 725 lumens (4000K), and 717 lumens (5500K), with illuminance of 254 lux (3200K @ 1 m), 255 lux (4000K @ 1 m), and 253 lux (5500K @ 1 m). A 120° beam angle and 180° field angle help cover wide areas evenly, whether you are lighting a subject close-up or washing larger surfaces.

Battery runtime, charging, and durability details

AX1 offers battery runtime up to 20 hours, with nominal charging time of 7 hours. Battery lifetime is rated at 70% after 300 cycles. The housing is polycarbonate with metal end caps, designed for production use, and supports an IP65 rating only with SiliconeCap. Ambient operating temperature is 0 to 40 °C (32 to 104 °F). Strobe is adjustable from 0 to 25 Hertz.
