The COBALT 4040 is a high quality digital encoder for converting 525/625 4:2:2 SDI signals (SMPTE 259M compliant) to analog NTSC/PAL composite with Y/C (S-Video) or analog component video. It is designed for broadcast, production, and facility workflows where legacy analog displays, recorders, routers, or monitoring paths still need to be fed from an SDI source.

Flexible SDI-to-Analog Output Options

Support for composite, Y/C (S-Video), and component analog outputs makes the 4040 a practical choice for integration with existing NTSC/PAL environments. Automatic, as well as manual, NTSC/PAL detect helps simplify setup when working across mixed-format systems or varied incoming sources.

Signal Controls for Calibration and Matching

The 4040 is rich with features such as configurable or automatic 7.5 IRE pedestal for proper setup level matching, color or monochrome select for compatibility and troubleshooting, and a color bar generator for verifying downstream paths and display alignment.
