NEW Ayrton Huracan Wash

NEW Ayrton Huracan Wash is a high-output, wash-type LED Fresnel luminaire designed for studio, theatre, and show applications where you need smooth field quality, precise shaping with barndoors, and flexible colour control. For the latest wash-type luminaire of the HURACÁN family, AYRTON has designed an entirely new Fresnel lens with an optical structure specially developed for use with framing barndoors, also favouring use with geometric gobos or ovalisation lenses, without constraints.

Optics, Zoom, and Beam Shaping

A subtle progressive diffusion system allows the diffusion level to be adapted according to the application and accessories or optical elements used. The Fresnel lens also significantly improves the colour mix and can obtain 10% more light than when using a conventional Fresnel lens F.O.S. The proprietary optical system of HURACÁN WASH delivers a 12:1 zoom ratio and a zoom range of 6.2° (half peak) to 75° (one-tenth peak), with fast motorised linear zoom.

HURACÁN WASH is factory-equipped with full features, including a framing section that allows accurate positioning of four barndoors on a 100% surface area in all positions, so that the user can frame any object regardless of the luminaire’s position. It also offers a wheel of seven rotating gobos, a 15-blade iris diaphragm and a beam ovaliser filter, giving you practical options for texture, beam control, and quick looks without changing fixtures.

Colour Mixing and Variable White Control

This luminaire adopts the complex colour mixing system of HURACÁN PROFILE, offering a double level of CMY saturation that can obtain 281 trillion colours and a triple corrector for variable colour temperature allowing subtle adjustment from 2700 K to 15000 K and significant CRI improvement. T.C.S. (patent pending). This makes it well suited for matching cameras and existing rigs, or for moving between warm tungsten-style tones and cooler daylight looks within a single cue.

LED Engine Options and Photometrics

HURACÁN WASH introduces a brand new 1000 W monochromatic LED source specially developed for studio and theatre applications, called the ST. This LED source delivers light output of 45,000 lumens and a D65 white point that allows perfect colour reproduction with a CRI greater than 80.

• Huracan Wash S: 80,000-lumen white light engine, total luminaire output up to 52,100 lumens (integrating sphere measurement, Auto Fan Mode), 7000 K, CRI > 70.
• Huracan Wash ST: 68,000-lumen white light engine, total luminaire output up to 45,300 lumens (integrating sphere measurement, Auto Fan mode), 5800 K, CRI > 80.
• Huracan Wash TC: 49,000-lumen white light engine, total luminaire output up to 33,900 lumens (integrating sphere measurement, Auto Fan mode), 6000 K, CRI > 95.

Controls, Networking, and Studio-Ready Operation

Designed for professional workflows, HURACÁN WASH supports local and remote addressing and status monitoring, including local DMX addressing through the built-in LCD control panel, remote addressing via RDM, and an information menu with hour counter, temperature, and software version. Flicker-free source management helps ensure clean on-camera performance for TV applications and video-recorded events.

Connectivity includes XLR 5-pin DMX in/out, Ethercon RJ45 in/out for ArtNet, and PowerCON TRUE1 power in/out. It also integrates a wireless CRMX TiMo RDM receiver from LumenRadio for cable-free control where required.

Construction and Practical Details

The 13-element high-resolution optical system uses tempered anti-reflective coated lenses with a 210 mm Fresnel frontal lens. Rated life (L70) is up to 40,000 hours, and protection features include excess-temperature protection.
