The Yamaha XMV8280-D Power Amplifier is an eight-channel solution built for flexible distributed audio, supporting both 70V/100V high-impedance speaker lines and 4Ω/8Ω low-impedance loads in the same unit, so you can power a mix of zones and speaker types from one rack space.
Flexible channel configuration for installed audio
Every pair of channels can be assigned to 70V or 100V operation without affecting the number of available output channels, making it easier to standardize on one amplifier model across different rooms and speaker runs. For applications that need extra headroom in specific zones, the Double Power Mode function effectively doubles the output power of selected channels.
Dante networking and system control
Equipped with Audinate’s digital audio network Dante, the XMV8280-D supports simple, fast system configuration over a standard network. In systems that use the MTX Series, you can make easy settings such as mute on/off or attenuator changes with MTX Editor, supporting streamlined commissioning and day-to-day adjustments.
Efficient Class D design with intelligent protection
An innovative, new, patent pending circuit improves the already highly efficient Class D circuit topology, bringing the efficiency level of the amplifier’s output stage up to over 90%. The Power Factor Correction equipped switching power supply helps ensure harmonic control and decreases the amount of current draw while maintaining the same output power. Powerful, intelligent protection features help support reliable operation in installed environments.
